Fleas and other parasites don't discriminate when looking for their next meal, but you should when searching for the right flea and heartworm preventive to recommend to your clients. The majority of cat owners choose their parasiticide product based on veterinarian recommendations. 1 Regardless of the cat's status as an indoor or outdoor pet, you want the product you recommend to protect them from the most important parasites. REVOLUTION ® (selamectin) is the five-in-one solution that kills fleas, hookworms, roundworms, ear mites and prevents heartworm disease. It is the product you trust with nearly 20 years of proven safety. 2 REVOLUTION Kills Fleas at the Source Cats can bring fleas in from outside, or fleas can make their way into a home and onto your clients' cats by hitching a ride on the family dog or on the pet owner's clothes. When this happens, cat owners seek a solution that will quickly eliminate existing fleas and prevent future infestations. REVOLUTION kills adult fleas that may already be on the cat or those that jump onto the cat after application. Study results prove that fleas are killed within 12 to 24 hours following application. 3 The killing power against adult fleas also lasts for a full month. In fact, a scientific study showed that after 28 days of treatment, REVOLUTION exhibited greater residual activity against adult fleas than Advantage ® and Frontline ® Plus. 4 REVOLUTION also has highly potent ovicidal activity and reduces flea egg production within 48 hours of application. 5 This helps prevent infestations from growing. You can also feel confident when you recommend REVOLUTION because it greatly diminishes flea feeding for 28 days after application. 6 This provides peace of mind to your clients because they can see their cat is more comfortable after application since the fleas stop biting before they die. 6 "To truly eliminate fleas and manage flea associated dermatitis, you need to ensure that the fleas are unable to reproduce and that fleas feeding on the cat are killed as quickly as possible." said Michael Dryden, DVM, Ph.D., University Distinguished Professor of Veterinary Parasitology, Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology, Kansas State University. Why Stop at Fleas? Prevent Heartworm Disease and Protect Against Other Internal Parasites, Too A study of cats in an endemic heartworm area found that feline heartworm infection occurred at a higher rate than Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
